Academic Director of International Partnerships of University of Bath, Prof Catherine Montgomery, visited the University of Macau (UM) and gave a talk about global educational mobility on 18 October. She was warmly received by UM Vice Rector (Global Affairs) Rui Martins and Director of Global Affairs Cindy Lam.

During the visit, Prof Montgomery had meeting with Rui Martins and Cindy Lam. Rui Martins introduced UM’s commitment to nurturing outstanding graduates and the university’s latest achievements. Prof Montgomery said she was impressed with UM’s academic atmosphere, campus facilities and outstanding faculty team. Both parties were looking forward to more concrete collaboration in mobility programs and academic visits.

In the afternoon, Prof Montgomery gave a presentation examining both new and established forms of educational mobility of students, academics and higher education institutions and underlines the importance of considering external higher education mobilities (what happen in aboard) in conjunction with internal forms (what happens at home). It attracted scholars and concerned staff members participating in the seminar.

University of Bath is a public university located in Bath, United Kingdom, with around 17,000 students enrolled. Over 30% come from outside the UK, representing over 130 nationalities. The university comprises three faculties, one School, 16 Departments and three Institutes.
