Macao has a humid subtropical climate and seasonal changes are heavily influenced by monsoons, the climate is warm and humid with a fairly wide variation in temperature over the year. Summer and Winter are the longest seasons in Macao while Spring and Autumn are relatively short. Summer months in Macao are extremely hot, shorts, t-shirt or light outfits made from cotton and silk are preferred. Temperatures drops to around 10℃ during winter and sweaters with a light jacket or coat will be needed for winter season. Higher rainfall and tropical storms affect the city during the summer and fall months.
