The name of the alliances is showed according to their official names in English, Chinese and/or Portuguese.
The Alliance aims to promote science and technology innovation and cooperation among cities in the western Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), facilitating talent development and science and technology advancement in the region, synergising innovation and deepening cooperation, and working together to build the “base for technological innovation and personnel training in western GBA,” to achieve coordinated development in the Greater Bay Area.

The Alliance aims to deepen the curriculum reform in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, promote the in-depth integration of information technology and education so as to facilitate the development and the sharing of high-quality curriculum resources, improve teaching quality, and build a learning society. By integrating high-quality faculty and curriculum resources from Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, the Alliance aims to establish a hybrid teaching mode based on online open courses, form a market-based sharing mechanism for online open courses, and enable the broad sharing of high-quality educational resources.

The Alliance centres around standardising laboratory animal resources, innovating animal model technology, establishing preclinical evaluation technology platforms, etc. It places significant emphasis on promoting resource strategy research and resource-sharing services, as well as supporting industries like the R&D of new pharmaceuticals and medical technology. It aims to contribute to public health causes and support the high-quality development of the economy by making the Guangdong province a leading place in science and technology.
