The Greater Bay Area Universities Drama Festival 2021, which was organized by the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Alliance and hosted by Drama Society of the UM Students’ Union (UMSU), has kicked off online. From 5 December to 25 December, six original drama shows will be available for viewing on the internet. All are welcome to join the event to enjoy the theatrical performances of university students in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA).

In the opening speech of Wang Ruibing, Interim Director of Global Affairs Office (GAO) of the University of Macau (UM), said that it is an important mission of the universities in the GBA to cultivate talent and promote the integration of youth from different parts of the region. He added that UM as the vice-chair of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Alliance hopes to provide a platform for staff and students in the GBA to showcase their talent and exchange ideas through this activity. The festival is expected to promote the cultural and creative pursuits among young talents in the region and enhance cross-regional exchange in arts and culture.

The festival is co-organised by UM Global Affairs Office, Student Affairs Office, UMSU, and Frost Ice Snow Creative Experimental Theatre, and supported by the Alliance for Technology, Innovation, and Talent Development in Western Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area and the Higher Education Fund.
