A delegation led by Du Qinglin, a member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and vice chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), today (8 June) visited the University of Macau (UM) and was warmly received by UM University Council Chair Lam Kam Seng, Rector Wei Zhao, and Vice Rector (Research) Rui Martins. Both parties exchanged ideas on UM’s latest developments and academic and research activities. During the meeting, Rector Wei Zhao told the guests about UM’s master plan, history, educational philosophy, academic structure, ‘4-in-1’ model of education, and residential college system. Du praised UM for its achievements attained in recent years and encouraged the university to continue to produce exemplary graduates for Macao. Members of the delegation also visited UM’s State Key Laboratory of Analog and Mixed-Signal VLSI.
