A delegation from the University of British Columbia (UBC) recently visited the University of Macau (UM) to promote collaboration between the two institutions. The delegation was led by Cheryl Dumaresq, managing director of UBC’s Office of the Vice-Provost International, and Rebecca Chiang, director of UBC’s Asia Pacific Regional Office in Hong Kong. The delegation met with Rose Lai, dean of UM’s Honours College and Wang Ruibing, director of UM’s Global Affairs Office to explore potential areas of cooperation between the two universities. Wang Ruibing introduced UM’s current development, research focus, and internationalisation strategy. Rose Lai introduced UM’s Honours College’s mission of cultivating well-rounded future leaders and highlighted the College’s efforts in providing quality study abroad opportunities for its students.

The delegation also visited UM’s University Gallery, Wu Yee Sun Library, and Stanley Ho East Asia College to learn about UM’s history, academic structure, campus facilities, and development plans.

UBC is one of Canada’s top universities with internationally recognized excellence in both teaching and research. UM will continue to promote exchange and cooperation with world-class institutions and expand its global partnership network to create more opportunities for students and faculty to expand their horizons.
