A delegation from Queens University, Belfast, led by its Dean of Internationalisation for the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, Mr Michael Alcorn, visited the University of Macau (UM) on 13 September. Th delegation was warmly received by UM Vice Rector (Global Affairs) Rui Martins.

Both parties had an in-depth discussion on strengthening academic and research collaboration between the two universities. Rui Martins introduced about UM’s history, academic structure, campus facilities, direction of future development. Prof Michael Alcorn praised for the learning environment and the academic achievement, and hope that there will be more visit and cooperation between two universities. The delegation also visited the UM Gallery and the university library. Members of the delegation included Business Development Manager Ms Anya O’Connor.

Queen’s University Belfast (informally Queen’s or QUB) is a public research university in Belfast, Northern Ireland. It offers academic degrees at various levels and across a broad subject range, with over 300 degree programmes available. The university is associated with two Nobel laureates and one Turing Award laureate.
