A delegation formed by representatives from the Zhuhai government and Sun Yat-sen University visited the University of Macau (UM) and was warmly received by UM Rector Yonghua Song. The three parties had an in-depth discussion on the promotion of higher education in Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, technologies for scientific research, resource integration, as well as the training of high-calibre professionals. Song told the guests about UM’s history, campus environment, academic achievements, and the four reasons that make UM a unique university: its location in a special administrative region, its special mission, its special status, and its unique model of education. The delegation also visited Moon Chun Memorial College and the Institute of Applied Physics and Materials Engineering. During the visit, representatives of UM, Sun Yat-sen University, Hong Kong Baptist University, the City University of Hong Kong, and the Southern University of Science and Technology signed a framework agreement on the establishment of a university alliance for the development of new medicines.
