On 20 January 2022, Mr. Abdú Jaquité, the newly appointed representative of Guinea-Bissau to the Permanent Secretariat for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and Portuguese speaking Countries, Macao SAR visited UM and was warmly received by Prof. Rui Martins, Vice Rector (Global Affairs) of UM. Before the meeting, a video of UM’s 40th anniversary was shown to introduce the history and development of UM. Prof. Martins then introduced the international student recruitment and international student scholarship of UM, as well as UM’s support and assistance to international students in the face of the pandemic. Mr. Jaquité hopes that the pandemic will end soon so that more Guinea-Bissau students can come to study at UM.
