The European Union’s relations with the Macao SAR and the University of Macau have continued to flourish since the handover, and further strengthened through UM’s effort of being the liaison of matter of the European Union Academic Programme for Macao with the EU Office upon the decision of the Macao SAR Government in 2010. In line with enhancing educational networks and promoting the EU and generating greater public awareness, scholars and students of University of Macau actively participated in activities jointly organized with the European Union Office for Europe Day celebration in May.
On 12 May, a symposium “Macau as a Regional Bridge for European Business Values and Culture” was organized by the European Union Information Programme in Europe Day Celebration held in Macao.
On 13 May, a celebratory activity for the University’s 30th anniversary – ‘One Day in EU’ – was jointly held by GAO and the Office of the European Union in Hong Kong inviting 18 UM students to visit the Office of the European Union (EU) .
