Student Researcher Programme provides opportunities for postgraduate students of UM to undertake research attachments at the counter institution. Students who participate in the Programme will be engaged in research activities under the supervision of the academic member(s) of the host institution, with a minimum duration of 3 months and a maximum of 12 months.
Postgraduate students (including Master and PhD students) of UM who meet the following requirements are eligible to apply for the Visiting Student Researcher Programme.
- complete at least two semesters of study of their current degree programme at UM before the commencement of the research attachments;
- fulfill the minimum language requirement set by the host institution (if any);
- specific requirements of each Programme (if any).
The application will be opened twice a year.

University Level Visiting Student Researcher Programme (Operated by GAO)
University Level Visiting Student Researcher Programmes are open to all UM postgraduates.
Students who are interested in applying Visiting Researcher should submit the complete application form and the following documents in hard copy to GAO (Room N6-G018) before application deadline.
- Curriculum Vitae (including academic qualifications, research activities, publications, awards, etc.)
- Research plan
- Latest academic transcript (Student can download from ISW)
- Language proficiency certificate, if any
Faculty Level Visiting Student Researcher Programme (Operated by Faculties)
Faculty level Visiting Student Researcher Programmes are open to eligible students in particular faculties or institutes.
Applications should be made directly to your Faculty/Institutes. Application arrangement is subject to latest announcements from respective Faculties/Institute.
