On 3 September, Global Affairs Office (GAO) hosted an online orientation to e-welcome the new batch of international students to UM. Over 50 new students from 19 different countries joined the event where they obtained useful information and got to know each other.
Prof. Rui Martins, Vice-Rector of Global Affairs, kicked off the orientation with a welcoming remark. Prof. Martins stated that due to COVID-19 pandemic, many newly admitted international students were not able to come to UM in person. Meanwhile, UM will continue to provide support to the international students and hope that they will be able to come and study in UM soon.
The orientation was joined by representatives of Student Affairs Office (SAO) who introduced the services and support provided by SAO. International Students Association (UMSU-ISA) also took the opportunity to introduce their association to the students.
Lastly, the students took turns to greet each other and introduce themselves. They were all very excited and were eager to come to UM and meet everyone face-to-face.
