To deepen collaboration in the field of education between the University of Macau (UM) and Vietnamese universities, a delegation led by Wang Chunming, Director of Global Affairs Office and , visited Da Nang, the economic hub of central Vietnam, from 10 to 16 November 2025. The delegation engaged in academic exchanges with several renowned local universities and paid a visit to the Consulate General of China in Da Nang to explore new opportunities for educational cooperation.
The delegation visited Duy Tan University, the University of Danang, and Dong A University, holding in-depth discussions with the institutions on topics such as student exchange and joint research. Duy Tan University expressed interest in academic collaboration and student mobility in areas such as tourism management, art and design, and social sciences. The University of Danang showed strong interest in joint seminars and research cooperation in computer science, English and Portuguese studies, and pharmaceutical sciences. Dong A University explored various possibilities for postgraduate programs and short-term student exchanges.
In addition, the delegation met with the Consulate General of China in Da Nang. Wang Chunming briefed Deputy Consul General Yang Shunfeng and Consul Liu Xiaoting on UM’s development, internationalization strategy, and cooperation with Vietnamese institutions. Yang stated that the consulate will fully support UM in advancing deep cooperation with higher education institutions in central Vietnam, particularly in facilitating exchanges in education and research.
Following the visit to Da Nang, the UM delegation will head to Hanoi to host two information sessions, where they will present details about UM’s academic programs, faculty strengths, and distinctive teaching features.
